Doula

Having a baby is hard enough. No women should be asked to do anything else while she is having a baby. She shouldn't have to renegotiate a birth plan, argue with her care providers about the evidence supporting her decisions, or advocate for her baby. She also shouldn't have to comfort her husband, or reassure her mother or educate her sister. Everyone around the birthing mother should attend her like the queen she is.

- Elizabeth Allemann, MD

Have any of these thoughts come to your mind about birth? "I'm scared." "I'm nervous." "I don't think I can do this."  "I'm scared of the pain." "I'm afraid something is going to happen to me or my baby." "What if I can't handle the intensity of birth?" "What if my partner doesn't know what to do?" "What if I start freaking out?" "What if I lose control?"

Did you know that it is possible to overcome all these fears? It is possible to have a positive birth experience!

With me at your side, you will be able to find your inner strength and overcome these fears you have inside. As your doula I will help you recognize the fears you have, discuss those fears, and help you overcome them.

Together we will build your birth plan and I will help you to know what all your options are. Birth isn't built as a "one size fits all". I will help you find your perfect "fit".

As your doula, I will meet with you 1-2 times before you have your baby so we can get to know one another better and for us to work on your best birth plan.

I will be on call from 38 weeks until you have your baby. This means that I will always have my phone on me and I will be ready to leave when you call me and say "It's baby time!"

I will support you in whatever way you need while you are in labor. That means I will provide counter pressure, hand holding, cold rag holding, rubbing your hands and feet, providing you with knowledge when you have questions, helping you get in better positions for baby, etc.

I will stay with you for about 2 hours after baby has arrived to make sure that everyone is healthy and that breastfeeding is established.

We will have 1 postpartum visit once you are home from your birthing place. Here we will talk about the birth and discuss how you are feeling about your birth experience. We will also talk about postpartum mood disorders and what you can do to help yourself.

As your doula, I will always be thinking about you. You will always be loved. I will always be there for you and if you need any advice or just someone to talk you, you can always call or text me, even after our time together is done.

I feel confident. I feel safe. I feel secure. I feel loved.

The cost of having me as your doula is $1000*

When you hire me as your doula, you will also receive free placenta encapsulation, as my gift to you!

*I am considerably lower than most doulas around here. The reason for this is NOT because I lack experience or because I don't value myself. I do! However, when I think of the price of doulas it makes me sick to my stomach. I hate that they cost so much when not everyone has that kind of money. I am not looking to serve those that can afford a higher priced doula, I am looking to serve those that want a doula, but don't think one is in their budget. Talk to me, let's make this work for you!
