Want to understand the process? Here is how I encapsulate your placenta...
First, I pick up your placenta from your birthing location. Make sure you have a cooler to put the placenta into after birth!
Second, I lay your placenta out and pat dry the blood off.
Then I paint the cord and veins with food dye.
Next, I take the paper and lay it on the placenta to make the print.
After I'm done and I have the perfect print, I rinse your placenta off with distilled water.
Third, I cut off the umbilical cord
Then I take wire and shape it into a heart.
After that, I slide your cord onto the wire to create the keepsake.
Fourth, I lay your placenta out and cut it into slices.
Then, I take one of those slices and put it into a bottle.
After that, I add the alcohol and gently shake it.
This creates the tincture
Fifth, I take the rest of the slices of placenta and put it on the dehydrator. I add the keepsake cord on there as well.
Then I start the dehydrator and there your placenta dries for 18-24 hours!
Sixth, once it's done drying, I take all the pieces and blend them up.
Then I put them into the capsules.
After that I put them into the bottle!
It's all done now and I drop it all off to you at home!
*This whole process is done with the utmost respect for your placenta and in the most sanitary way! I always wear gloves, I have a plastic covering and I use bleach to clean before and after!
Here is my personal experience with placenta encapsulation.
The first time I came across the words "placenta encapsulation" I was pregnant with my first. My sister is the one that introduced it to me. I started gagging and told her that it was so gross, why would anyone do that?!! I laughed at her for even considering such an idea!
Then I found myself pregnant 3 months postpartum. I was going to have Irish Twins. I was terrified for many reasons, but I was most worried about postpartum. I had suffered postpartum anxiety and OCD with my first and I was worried about it happening again. In my search to better understand Irish Twins, I came across a lot of information about how postpartum mood disorders were stronger with the Irish Twin. This worried me even more. So, I went on a desperate search on how to make the postpartum time better. I kept hearing my sister's voice in my head, telling me all the benefits of placenta encapsulation, but I kept shaking it off because "that's gross!" However, in all my research, I kept coming across it as well. This did not make me happy. Deep down inside I knew what I was going to do, but I kept trying to convince myself not to do it.
After months of trying to convince myself not to do it, I got down on my knees and prayed. I felt an overwhelming feeling that said that I needed to do this. It was so important. Who was I to argue with God? I looked it up and found someone to do it for me. After I had my little Irish Twin, I took my placenta. I am not exaggerating when I say that it saved my life! I could NOT have survived that time without it. Anytime I felt the anxiety and OCD creep in, the placenta capsules took it away. I always described it as, it normally felt like I was looking out a gross, filthy window at the world. But the placenta capsules cleaned my window so I could see reality, not what my mind was trying to convince was real.
I truly got a testimony of placenta encapsulation! I try to convince everyone that they need to do it! I have done it with all the rest of my children. With my little man, I suffered severe postpartum depression. Again, my placenta capsules saved my life and my marriage! They helped the dark cloud of depression go away so that I could see reality!
A lot of people say that placenta encapsulation is not evidence based and that it shouldn't be done. I have seen the evidence myself and with my clients. It works, it really does. I knew that I had to add this as a service of mine because I feel so passionate about it!
